Food dyes
Food dyes are selected water soluble synthetic dyes / chemical products with colouring and tinctorial power which are expressed once dissolved in a medium. Dyes are added to food, cosmetics, toiletries and personal care products. All food dyes are available in lake form too.

D&C dyes
Drug & Cosmetic dyes are water soluble. They are highly concentrated. To use them, mix a small amount of dye with warm water, and stir until dissolved. Since the colour of your product will be lighter than the colour of the dyed water, you will need to do some trials to determine how much dye is required per batch. These dyes produce brilliant colours and can be blended to achieve other colours. Add D&C Dyes to the water phase of your formulation.
